Winter Sweets Gifts for Parents and New Mothers in the UK
Winter is the season for sending something homemade to family. Traditional Gujarati sweets make a thoughtful gift for parents and grandparents, and for anyone who has just had a baby. Here are ideas by person, with what to choose and how to send it.

For parents and grandparents
Many older relatives grew up eating winter pak and will recognise it straight away. Methi Pak and Magaj are the classic choices. Add Adadiya Pak if they like a bit of crunch. A 500g box is plenty for one household, and 1kg suits a home that often has visitors.
For new mothers
In Gujarati families, Panjiri and Methi Pak are traditionally given to new mothers because they are rich and warming. They are a considerate gift from friends and relatives, and they are easy to eat a little at a time.

For friends who have never tried them
Choose Magaj, which is nutty, soft and easy to like. Add a small tray of Nankhatai biscuits for tea.
